It is clear that Caleb Taylor’s widow Sarah had not remarried before 20 July 1814 when she and her two sons Jeremiah Taylor and John Taylor “of Rutherford County” sold to Andrew Miller a 100 acre tract on Mountain Creek in Rutherford County bordering land of Anthony Dickey that had been part of a 150 acre tract originally patented by Jonas Bedford in 1770 and subsequently sold by him to Caleb Taylor in 1773 as previously noted. It is not yet known what happened to Caleb Taylor’s widow Sarah after the above sale of land in 1814, but these two sons of Caleb---John Taylor (born c1772) and Jeremiah Taylor (born 1774)---had moved nto the Blue Ridge Mountains after their marriages in 1798 to Mary (Powell?) and Elizabeth King respectively, with Jeremiah subsequently removing to Missouri by1820. Caleb Taylor’s posited daughter Martha Taylor (born c1776) married a posited first cousin Rowland Hunnicutt and moved to Pendleton District, SC. The other two posited children of Caleb Taylor were Rebecca Taylor (born c1766) and Sarah Taylor (born c1778) who married John Devenport and Jonathan King respectively and remained in the Rutherford/Polk County area.
